Believe it!   Leave a comment

I had a co worker come and say goodbye to me today at work.

Wishing me well.

He said “are you sure you won’t be back in January”
I said “Nope I am done”
He said “Really?  Are you sure”

And like I told my husband “IF we need the money then yes I would consider going back” but I don’t see us needing the money.

Of course I could be wrong and something might happen that we do.

But I really have no intention in going back in January.

Dry Tortugas Florida

There was a list on the internet of the 12 national parks that were the least visited last year.

The Dry Tortugas Florida was number 6.

I would LOVE LOVE LOVE to go here and have even tried to get my husband to go but he doesn’t show any interest in it.

I think once he was there he would find it very interesting but getting him to go is a whole other story.

“The Shack” revisted   Leave a comment

So I finished the above titled book over my lunch break.

It was a good read.

I wasn’t too crazy about God being a woman but for the book it made sense.

Now I will watch the movie in the next day or two and see how it compares.

Hopefully  it will be as good or better.

Clearly~   Leave a comment

I am at work and wishing I wasn’t.

Not because I don’t feel well or anything like that, it is more that I am lazy and just don’t want to be here.

Clearly I am a bum.

The weather has been exceptionally wonderful, low to mid seventies with a nice breeze.

Day four of the diet and I don’t feel any lighter.

One would think cutting all sugar from one’s diet and not eating anything but protein and vegetables that I would feel a lot lighter.

But I don’t.

Yes I know it takes time but seriously I thought at least the bloated feeling would leave me by now…..

Clearly I have a long way to go…..

Why clearly for the title of this blog?
No reason other then it popped into my head.

Yep still longing for the beach…..

Life as I know it~   Leave a comment

I had a very relaxing weekend and the weather was nice and cool.

So cool I had to put on jeans, socks and a sweater yesterday afternoon.

This is my last Monday as an Iowa City Community School employee.

I have mixed feelings about it.

I will miss my Longfellow family and some of the kids.

I will miss the great pay.

I won’t miss the monstrous kids or the drive in to work every day.

17 miles one way.

I will miss the benefits and having every weekend and holiday off.

Holiday’s with pay.

But here in a year or three or four I will be completely retired and have every holiday and weekend off again.

Life evolves….things change…people come and go, but I have no doubt with the Good Lord’s help, it will all be fine in the end.

The Shack~   Leave a comment

I am reading the book “The Shack” by WM. Paul Young and it is quite good.

It is about a man who loses his young daughter and blames God for letting it happen.

And then three and a half years later he gets a note in the mail from God asking to meet.

I am not too crazy about God being a woman, but the book explains that just because we see God in a certain way doesn’t mean that is how He is.

We have misconceptions about God and Jesus and this book touches on that a bit.

I haven’t finished it yet but probably will today.

It also goes into God gives us free will and it isn’t up to Him to stop something horrible happening.  He is there with the person who suffers, every step of the way but He can’t stop it because He gave us all free will.

If I was grading the book I would give it a B plus or a A.

Now I will watch the movie this weekend and see how differently they are.

After reading “13 Reasons Why” I am watching the mini series on Netflix and the mini series is a lot different then the book.
Which annoys me.

The book came first so whomever makes the book into a movie or series should follow the damn book.

But that is me and my opinion.
