I know I am a Broken Record~   Leave a comment

Ahh the ocean……

I have actually sat in these chairs and watched the ocean roll in and out……

I miss the sunshine and warmth.

Yes I am going in May but that is  ……..five months away……….

4 to go~   Leave a comment

In 4 days our home will be filled with our kids and their spouses, my eldest daughter and our five grandkids.

It will be hectic and hopefully happy.

And hopefully everyone will enjoy their presents.

Christmas Eve is always our big celebration.
With Chili and pies for desert.

It is a family tradition.

Christmas Day is quiet and just my husband and I.

Of course Paula will be here too but not sure how long she will stay as she has to drive four hours back to Milwaukee  and the weather may get bad.

Hopefully everyone will have a good time.

She~   Leave a comment

She was particular on how she liked things.

She was loyal to her family.

She was a walking dictionary and articulate with the English language.

She was honest.

She was a loving Nana.

She was a mother to two sons.

She was strong and yet insecure in herself.

She was proud to be an Iowan, but loved the ocean.

She was a sister to six siblings.

She was 67 years old.

And I miss her more then I can even begin to express.

Love you dearly Cyndi~

Snug As A Bug In A Rug~   Leave a comment

Although it is warming up outside I am snug inside with my little fake fire place going and the Christmas tree blazing.

Life is good~

Not gonna lie~   Leave a comment

I am still wishing I was near the ocean soaking up the rays.

I can’t lie….it is calling me.

Too Cool~   Leave a comment

cropped-sailing-defiant-1My sister told me about a new blog titled “Sailing Defiant”

It is really interesting.

The blog is written by a man name Jon.

I have never met him but he is the boyfriend to my niece Melissa.

And so therefore I get to hear a little bit about their adventures.

I envy them a bit for the daring life at sea and their free spirits.

But they are young, Melissa is in her late twenties, and she has no one to think about but herself.

You should check it out~

Seriously thinking~   Leave a comment

I am seriously thinking of calling in sick tomorrow and Wednesday.

Well my stomach has been bothering me a lot today but in all honesty I just don’t want to work.

Yeah as crappy as that sounds I don’t want to work.

Not sure if I will actually do it but man do I want to.

And I have Friday through Monday off so I don’t really need to have the next two days off.

Guess I will have to wait and see how I feel in the morning……

Just the thought of work……ugh

Snow, Cold and Monday Morning~   Leave a comment

Due to our freezing cold temperatures we won’t even start school today till 10AM

Which is fine by me.

I have that less of a time to deal with monstrous children.

And since I did all of the shoveling and cleaning yesterday while I was here, I am happy to say I don’t have anything to do EXCEPT put sand down on the steps and sidewalks.

But I will do that in an hour or so when it is light out.

Yeah it is another stinking Monday, but I get the next two off after today and it is only a three day week with staff and students.

Thursday I work, then I have Friday through Monday off, then work Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday of next week and then have Friday through Monday off again.

I will work on the 3rd and 4th of January, hopefully by myself with no teachers in the building and then school starts on January 5th.

I have just got to get through the next three days.

I know I can do it.

I just hate dealing with brats.

The joys (NOT) of my job.

Grandchildren, freezing and shoveling snow~   Leave a comment

This was our weekend to have our grandkids

It was enjoyable as always.

Aaron and Bailey are still here but Keira and Kayla went with their mom to bake cookies at their grandmother’s house.

The temps are freezing outside.

-7 right now but with a wind chill of -30

I went to work and had to shovel snow and deal with the damn cold.

The sun is shining but according to the weatherman it isn’t helping much because the sun is reflecting off the snow so much since it was a new snow.

And that is what is making it so cold.

At any rate tomorrow is another work week beginning.

At least the kids are only there three days.
