Boat trip   1 comment

we went on our boat trip yesterday and it was great fun.
The kids all had fun anyway swimming and riding the lake
I enjoyed it too and wished it could have been an all day thing

Philosophy of Life   1 comment

My sister-in-law sent me this in an email and it is so beautiful I must share it here

we never get what we want

we never want what we get

we never have what we like

we never like what we have

and still we live and love…………that’s life

the best kind of friend is the one you can sit on the porch swing with and not say a word

and then leave that person feeling like you just had the best conversation you ever had

it’s true that we don’t know what we have until it is gone, but it is also true that we don’t know what we’ve been missing until it arrives

giving someone all of your love is never an assurance that they will love you back

don’t expect love to return, just  expect it to grow in their hearts

but if it doesn’t, be content that it grew in yours

it takes only a minute to get a crush on someone

an hour to like someone and a day to love someone

but it takes a lifetime to forget someone

don’t go for looks, they can deceive

don’t go for wealth, even that fades away

go for someone who makes you smile, because it only takes one smile to make a dark day seem bright

find the one that makes your heart smile

may you have enough happiness to make you sweet

enough trials to make you strong

enough sorrow to keep you human

and enough hope to make you happy

always put yourself in other’s shoes,

if you feel that it hurts you, it probably hurts the other person too

the happiest people don’t necessarily have everything, they just make the most of everything that comes their way,

happiness lies for those who cry, those who have hurt and those who have searched, and those who have tried

for only they can appreciate the importance of people who have touched their lives

when you were born you were crying and everyone around you was smiling

live your life so that when you die, you will be smiling and everyone else will be crying

Isn’t that beautiful?

amazed   Leave a comment

it totally amazes me how when I have a day off, it flies by, but if I was working, it would drag on forever.
My day off yesterday wasn’t that eventful.
True I slept till seven forty-five then I took my bath so that put me at eight thirty.
I did some cleaning, some rearranging of furniture and either read or wrote on a story and before I know it my husband is walking in the door at three thirty.
It was a good day, a productive day, but I hate how fast the time goes.
Today I got up at six twenty and was out of the bath tub by seven.
Ate breakfast and have the entire day ahead of me.
Nothing great planned, other than to enjoy the day.
🙂

I’m sure it will go as fast as yesterday did.
Sad to say but  oh so true

from the moment I wake up   1 comment

the moment I wake up, before  I put on my make up, I say a little prayer for you

while combing my hair now, or deciding what clothes to wear now, I say a little prayer for you
forever and ever oh how I love you, to live without you would only be heartbreak for me……..

When I run for the bus dear, I say a little prayer for us dear, I say a little prayer for you

while all through my day now, even on my coffee break now, I say a little prayer for you
forever and ever you’ll stay in my heart and I will love you forever and ever we never will part, oh how I love you

forever and ever that’s how it will be to live without you would only be heartbreak for me…………

a little slice of heaven   Leave a comment

there is just something about sunrises and sunsets that make me think a little slice of heaven is showing itself to us  mere humans here on earth.

they can be so breathtakingly  pretty

so exquisite in colors

just so completely magnificent

I love the sunrises and sunsets I get to see every day in Iowa.
even in the winter months

It is God’s showing that he exists

and that we are lucky enough to experience it

water or lack of- day two   Leave a comment

we have no water here again at the school.
Hate it.
Amazed at how spoiled I have been with it all this time

like having electricity all this time and then suddenly not having it.
Hate the inconvenience of it all.

Yes I know I am spoiled

knee deep in the water somewhere   Leave a comment

driving into work the Zac Brown Band was singing this song.
I’m not sure if this is the title but it goes something like……….

knee-deep in the water somewhere, got no worries in the world and all I care about is if the water is going to reach my chair

of course there is more to it than that, but that is all that is running through my head.

I wouldn’t mind being knee-deep in the water somewhere, but I would be more conscious of sharks lurking after all the attacks on people I have been hearing about.
They would take one look at my fat calves and think “Yum!”  and take a big old bite.

insane day   Leave a comment

I had the day from hell today.

A water main broke so we have been without water since 9 am.
The bathrooms reek of toilets needing flushed, and of course I didn’t get a notice about no water.
They sent over 20 jugs of water but some of the toilets just would not flush.
So needless to say….it will stink in the school tomorrow.

Then I went into a room I cleaned two weeks ago to find a dozen spots where there is mildew on the carpet.
Just made me want to cry.

Why can’t things be easy?
I just don’t get it.

Thank God my work day is over with.

washing windows   Leave a comment

I have been washing windows since six this morning.
It is now almost nine am and I am almost finished.
Just have eight more to go.
It is a good feeling getting those out-of-the-way because I was really dreading doing them.

But it is a pretty morning out there and the sun isn’t too unbearable, (Although I am going to be in the shade from here on out)

I am running out of things to do here at the school, but I will find odds and ends to keep me busy.
🙂

🙂  (this is the only picture I have of a window)
